Media and New Calvinists

Here is the Q&A from the Religious Newswriters Association meeting in Minneapolis. I found it both interesting and helpful.

I actually was just reading an article that rated "new calvanism" top 3 in the top 10 changing ideas in the world right now. It seems to me like this movement is almost like a protest, but as a christian I see where they are coming from. Maybe I am wrong, but it seems to me that this "new clavanism" movement "really" cares about God. The old calvanist view seemed to put focus apart from God. People became to caught up in the arguement and I really believe we should soley focus on God's word. I have trouble believing the idea that God chose "some" people to be saved and that He did not die for the whole world. The greatest gift God gave us was the gift of free-will. We have the choice to love Him or not to love Him. God could have pre-programmed us to follow Him, but what is the sense in doing that. There is no purpose to it. Basically in a nutshell this idea of new calvanism is a pretty good idea, but Why? Why not just follow God and His teachings, instaed of worrying about which denomination is "right" or not. When searching for the reasons of your faith it is important to ask questions, but some we will never know, because God is infallible.
